The Central IAP is calling on Presidents and Secretaries for support for Bursaries for the XXXIV IAP Congress (https://iap2022.com/) in Sydney in October 2022. These bursaries are funded very generously by donations from the constituent Divisions and Assemblies of the IAP around the world and are an important way of providing education particularly to underserved pathology communities. This year the awards will be for the Virtual Component only of the Congress to be held between 11 and 13 October 2022. To be eligible for an IAP Bursary, applicants must have had an abstract accepted for presentation (oral or poster) at the meeting after appropriate review by the Australasian IAP processes. The deadline dates are shown below.
At the previous XXXIII IAP Congress in 2020 (‘Glasgow 2020’ in conjunction with the European Society of Pathology), ultimately delivered virtually, the Central IAP awarded 51 bursaries, including the Vladimir Totovic bursaries from the German Division and the International Society of Gynaecological Pathology. In addition, the British Division awarded 41 bursaries to its home countries and allied Schools of Pathology including the Nermin Durakovic bursaries. The joint host, the ESP, awarded 193 bursaries to its constituent countries.
The Bursaries for Sydney 2022 will be for online registration only with full access to the materials delivered between 11 and 13 October 2022. This will allow pathologists from a wider range of countries, particularly those from low and middle income countries, to benefit from high quality pathology education delivered by superb global pathologists.
